triple_layer_eggnog_pie.jpgDoes anyone love eggnog?  I like it, its an interesting drink that has an interesting history.

“The true story might be a mixture of the two and eggnog was originally called “egg and grog in a noggin”. This was a term that required shortening if ever there was one.

With it’s European roots and the availability of the ingredients, eggnog soon became a popular wintertime drink throughout Colonial America. It had much to recomend it; it was rich, spicy, and alcoholic.”

Personally, I only like a little glass of it about once a year around the holidays.  I did however find a way to use all that excess “nog” I have sittin’ in my fridge….Triple Layer Eggnog Pie.

New York Times Sqaure

Have you ever tried a puzzle? Honestly the things are great! I like counting how many times people say “I really, really think we’re missing a piece!” My husband and I just started our first puzzle in our married life, haha, and it has overtaken our entire dinner table. I guess we’ll be eating on our TV trays (yes, we are like old people). Currently, Im working on Beyonce’s face which is more difficult then it seems. Ill be getting some great action shots as we continue to conquer New York, New York!

About 2 weeks ago was the biggest decision of our lives! We decided to purchase our first home! Since we are still living out of boxes, there isn’t much to see!  We decided to forgo our Nashville plans for bit, but cannot wait to be back!  Our little home is tucked in little Corona, California.  So excited are we! :)

CHECK BACK ~ More pictures to come!

DowntownI don’t know quiet what it was. Visiting the Music Capital of the World was an experience within itself. I loved walking the streets of downtown Franklin and just basking under the 106 degree temperature!!! No, but really I loved it there. I realized that my current world view had been so hurried by the constant GO GO GO of the California lifestyle, I never really got to relax and enjoy my surroundings

I loved all the trees and even though it’s not fall yet, I appreciated some of the leaves obliging to change prematurely so that I could get a glimpse of a true FALL season. I liked downtown Nashville and got a glimpse of the old days when penniless musicians played the streets waiting for their break. It was inspiring to believe so much talent came out of one place, and yet still kept its small town feel.

The food was spectacular! I did have my first ever Waffle House experience which was different, but hey what can you say? “The food was good!” People were nice, even at the gas station! How is that even possible? Amidst the flashing neon lights with a mix of southern home cookin’ I found a new community that I could one day call Home!
