I DO NOT LIKE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! Last night at 1:30am we had to turn our AC on because it was over 82 degrees in our little house. Ahhhh….pray for us people, its gonna be a hot one!

Sometimes….we all just need a good hug!

Recently, my husband Steven and I have been confronted with the fact that we’re adults and stuff you never think about when you’re kids has become a reality. When you’re a child, you think everyone around you is invisible and will never die.

Lately, many family friends as well as family members have been affected by this giant that doesn’t care who you are, where you come from or where you’re headed. It doesn’t show any bias to the young or to the old, the good person or the evil person. It attacks anyone it chooses. I hate cancer. This little girl Natalie is the little girl of some family friends of ours (she has a blog and she’s 3!). Please pray for her! She has lifetimes of experiences that no one should ever have to experience. Please pray for those you know, don’t know. It’s amazing how many people are impacted by this. Ask one person and I bet they know at least one person who has cancer. My heart is so heavy right now after reading more updates on her, learning of a friends father being diagnosed and having a friend and some family currently impacted by this disease. I hate this disease! I hate it!

So I realized that the last two posts have been about food and this makes me feel like I should be back at the gym. My husband cooked dinner for me last night and while I didn’t have a great picture of it but this is something like this. He rocks!

Ya know….sometimes I feel sorry for people that don’t live in California. Granted, I want to move out of this crazy, fast paced, smog filled state. But the great people of this state knew that there were people like me who, all they need to satisfy a long hard days work is a big juicy In-N-Out meal (I have to say meal, cuz I can’t eat beef…poor me!) I mean, Whataburger and Sonic are OK substitutes when you can’t have the real thing, but there truly is no place like this. Sorry NON-Californians. I don’t travel much, haven’t tasted tons of burgers (and have not always been beef intolerant) but nothing suffices when all I want is to simply get my Grilled Cheese with grilled onions, pickles, and lettuce home and take one huge bite as I debate with my husband over the David Cook vs. David Archuleta battle on Idol. That’s all I ask….all I ask

I took this picture in our backyard. I just love it!

This is a special night for all APU students to get a taste of great music, speakers, and all different sorts of entertainment. One of the presenters will be:

Phil Wickham…………

With amazing lyrical integrity, compelling artistic expression, and an intimate cry to God through his unique voice, Phil Wickham channels the pop sensibilities of Coldplay with the emotive lyrics of singer-songwriters like John Mayer.

Wickham’s appealing blend of driving pop-rock, along with intimate, worshipful moments, broadcasts a rare gem that shines in all facets. Some of his recent hits include “Divine Romance” and “Grace”. Check out his website at www.philwickham.com or listen to his music on iTunes.
